Subject: [GeneseeBirds-L] List from Van Dyne Spoor Road - 5/9 - Prothonotary Warbler.
Sue and I spent a few hours this morning in the Montezuma Complex. It remained cool - approx 46 F with a busy N breeze.
Still some fun with migrants and other species. Most of the area was flooded and Carncross to Howlands Island bridge and area near totally impassable. Almost no waterfowl and the only shorebirds Killdeer, including the wildlife drive.    I'll attach a list from the wooded area of Van Dyne Spoor Road and one from Savannah-Spring Lake Road is in eBird. No other areas worth a list. There were Black Terns at Tschache Pool.

Checklist Comments:    Sue and I drove this stretch of Van Dyne Spoor Road with a first stop about half way with some spishing and Barred Owl imitation and screech owl whistling imitation. Later Just stops and spishing 100yds or so and then near end at open Sandhill Crane Unit. Did not drive out flooded SCU, just quick binocular scan from edge.
