I finally tore myself away from spring migration long enough to finish compiling the sightings from the six counties visited during the KOS Spring meeting the weekend of May 2 - 4.
Below is the compiled list from all six counties. The link will take you to a web page that shows which species were seen in each county. The compiled 185 species seen was quite impressive. Several new county records were achieved and a few new confirmed breeding records were obtained! The list is compiled from the eBird lists that were shared with KSOrnSociety as well as those species checked off on the "big county list boards" that were present at the Friday night gathering and the Sunday noon compilation. They do not include the Prarie Rattlesnake Jaye and I had a close encounter with on Sunday!
Many thanks to Jeff Calhoun for organizing this and all the individuals who "led" the various field trips to those counties. It was a wonderful weekend and always great to meet new friends and to put names and faces together!!!
