Subject: [Ohio-birds] Global Big Day licking county
I spent today enjoying the wonderful weather and doing a relaxed global big day. I didn’t want to do a lot of driving so I stuck to Licking County locations & even took a long lunch break in the middle. I ended up with 83 species, 3 more than last year. I did pick up several FOY birds, so that was cool even if I missed birds like Great Blue Heron.

FOY (or FOS) Birds
Bay-breasted Warbler—finally heard one well enough to count at Morris Woods but it only sang a few times & I could not spot it.
Purple Martin Land Lab
Willow FCs Land Lab
E Meadowlark Land Lab
Orchard Oriole—beautiful male at Denison

Some interesting finds: Lincoln’s Sparrow at land lab showing well, hen turkey at Denison and an immature Broad-winged Hawk being harassed by blackbirds off of Raccoon Valley Road. I had to go to Spring Valley to get E Pee-wee and Acadian FC— I’m still not hearing them at Denison but I missed YT Vireo there and everywhere else.

Warblers—13
Ovenbird
La WT

Nashville
KY
Hooded
Am Redstart
N Parula
Bay-breasted
Yellow
Chestnut-sided
Yellow-throated
