Subject: [Ohio-birds] Swamp Rd Sunday morning—no Blue Grosbeak
I arrived about 8:20 or so which was probably too late to catch the blue grosbeak. merlin would occasionally pick up the bird very briefly but I never heard a call note or any song so I didn’t count it. I’ll have to go back earlier in the morning and hopefully have better luck.

There were some interesting birds around including 5 Sandhill Cranes. After dipping on Great blue Heron yesterday on big day I must’ve seen at least six today, of course.

There were Barn and Cilff Swallows but not large numbers. I heard a flight call of a Spotted Sandpiper just before I left but did not see it. Interesting was a Red-headed WP that landed in the field and then a pair showed up on a telephone pole a bit later. Brown Thrasher, Wood Thrush and an Indigo Bunting were singing in the distance.
