Subject: [NHBirds] eBird Report - Pickering Ponds trails, Rochester, May 11, 2025 78 species

Yesterday, I was joined by 23 birders for the annual Mother's Day bird walk at Pickering Ponds trails in Rochester. After a windy and relatively birdless start, the weather became comfortable and a good showing of warblers, Baltimore and Orchard Orioles, Scarlet Tanager and Rose-breasted Grosbeaks appeared to satisfy the group's bird lust. Zeke Cornell and Becky Suomala tallied the following list of species, thank you very much. Dan Hubbard, Rochester

Checklist Comments: NH Audubon Seacoast Chapter outing led by Dan Hubbard--annual Mother's Day walk at Pickering Ponds. The day began breezy and a bit cool, but the wind calmed and the conditions became more comfortable. Seventeen species of warbler with the Canada Warblers providing very good views for the group and the Blackpoll fairly decent views. The Black-billed Cuckoo was heard only, but called multiple times.
