Subject: [pen-bird] Chipping Sparrow in the yard (El Granada) 5/11 & 5/13!
Greetings Birders,
I've had an exciting development in the yard here in El Granada, on Sunday I spotted a Chipping Sparrow in our new water feature! I didn't have any optics within reach but got a great look before it departed not to be seen again that day. I was hoping it would return and this morning I saw it again coming in for a bath! I was ready this time and able to get some photos through the window (in checklist link below). Our street skirts the western edge of Rancho Corral de Tierra which has some decent habitat for Chipping Sparrows. Though I've only seen one, I'm wondering if they might be breeding nearby which would be super exciting, but only a wishful thought at this point.
