In case you don't look at your monthly eBird recap e-mails, or have them turned off, you might have missed out on an announcement of new checklist media types that went live at the beginningof May. Here is a link to Cornell’s informationabout the new media types: https://ebird.org/news/new-checklist-media Basically you can add photos or sound recordings that addmore information about the location you were birding. Patty and I have been encouraging you to addthese habitat and experience type photos to the Birding Hotspots website. With the introduction of the eBird collectionof these photos, we encourage you to now add them there. The Birding Hotspots website is now sourcingthe photos directly from e-bird (in addition to any that were previously loadedinto Birding Hotspots).
So, again, let me encourage you to add a photo to yourchecklist that shows the habitat, or the entry sign or the visitor center, oranything that you think would be helpful to someone who wants to know a littlemore about the birding location. (No people, please; ebird limits visibility ofphotos of people to the people who are participants in the checklist.)
