Observation start time: 09:00:00 Observation end time: 15:00:00 Total observation time: 6 hours
Official Counter: Jim Landau
Observers:
Visitors: Anyone thinking about stopping by wisely came up with better options.
Weather: Mild temps with overcast clouds from the southeast all day. It never really rained but there were scattered drops on and off all day.
Raptor Observations: Outside of a single TV and red-tail in the last hour, the only migration was in the 2nd & 3rd hours. 3 bald eagles, 1 northern harrier and 1 sharpie, along with 7 broadwings and 5 red-tails. 1 osprey was counted but then returned an hour later carrying a fish. Local TVs, red-tails and eagles showed up throughout the watch.
Non-raptor Observations: A singing scarlet tanager was heard and then spotted. Other sundry expected species (starlings, grackles, killdeer, crows, etc.).
Predictions: National Weather Service predicts, "A chance of showers, mainly before 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 74. Southeast wind 11 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%." Sounds like a repeat of today with less rain chance. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Jim Landau (<landaujr...>)
