Thank you Zac for your elegant and detailed report. Were I still a reviewer I would accept the record. Your description reminds me of my observations of the black swift in the 7,000 to 13,000 foot mountains of northern New Mexico where I saw them going to and from their nest site behind a waterfall. My biologist and master bander friend wondered whether we could be mistaking the bird for a white-throated swift and I remarked that at that distance we would have seen the white marks. That was enough said between us to confirm our own individual impressions.

Your gentle and thorough teaching helps all of us to be good observers and data takers. Thanks again.
