Weather: It rained overnight and into the morning. There was a brief pause in the rain around 9am, but then it continued to rain until 12:30pm. It was then mostly cloudy with a few pockets of blue sky peeking through. Temps in the 60s. Winds SE at 10-15mph.
Raptor Observations: Today's count was mostly conducted in the afternoon as the morning was quite rainy. During the brief pause in the rain around 9am, one lone Northern Harrier flew over the parking lot heading along the lakeshore. After the rain stopped, there was a steady stream of Turkey Vultures (213) on the move. Mixed in with the vultures were a number of Red-tailed Hawks (44), Bald Eagles (26), and Sharp-shinned Hawks (23).
Non-raptor Observations: Several groups of Bobolinks flew past the platform. Blue Jays were moving in decent numbers.
Predictions: Tomorrow will be overcast with a slight chance of a rain shower. High 68F. Winds E at 5 to 10 mph. There could be a few birds trying to fly into the wind, but it's unlikely that there will be large numbers. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Maili Waters (<mailirwaters...>) Braddock Bay information may be found at: http://www.bbrr.org/
