This morning I had a couple interesting sighting as I strolled the park. First was a Rosy-faced Lovebird, foraging on the ground with Abert’s Towhee’s and Mourning Doves.
I only saw it flying away, but treble rump and greenish wings are consistent.

The second was a Common Ground Dove at the edge of the grass behind the 4th hole green. It spooked before I could get a photo worth posting.
At the 7th hole pond, an adult coot had a small coot chick. It was white headed so older than a couple weeks, but much smaller than the ones I’ve been seeing.

At one point I saw a family of 5-6 Javelina, so I rerouted farther out into the desert. Never can tell what they will do.
Also saw three young coyotes exploring a brush pile by the pond.
Jack Sparrow really becomes a handful when we encounter them.

Yesterday there was an American Avocet on the 7th hole pond, still in breeding plumage. No sigh of it today.

Two days ago on Magee Road, I believe I saw another Common Ground Dove.
