Subject: No. 7 Location for Painted Bunting
On three separate days last week (7/7 - 7/13), my wife and I drove miles of country roads without seeing a single painted bunting. Today, 7/15, my luck changed. I discovered a brand new site harboring a beautiful male bird. The coordinates are as follows:
38.8543257, -94.8579258
This is where W. 151st St. and Old 56 Hwy meet in Olathe. It is the spacious and quiet north entrance of the Superior Bowen Asphalt Co/Johnson County Aggregates complex.
Two photos, taken at 10:25 and 10:33 a.m. may be viewed here:

My 2025 Painted Bunting Discovery Tour continues.
