Actual range expansions. One needs to look at eBird reports from California over time to see it. The species was added to the official California state list in 2013 based in part on eBird data. They have nested periodically on Santa Clara County and in other Bay Area counties. However for reasons that are unclear, they remain "not countable" in Santa Clara County. Attached is a map.
