Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] Tern update
The tern has disappeared and I don't know exactly where it ended up going, but I'll continue to look. The 1-year-old common tern is still here. Be aware that there are plenty of juvenile forsters terns lined up on that shore so don't confuse them with the White Winged given their darker upperparts. There are now 2,000 Western sandpipers on the main J Street mud flats to sift through. The first full breeding plumaged red knot has returned.

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
