Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] Broad-billed Hummingbird southeastern Oceanside
This bird has been visiting the feeder daily since I first noticed it on
Sunday. It prefers a late afternoon feeding, and is very skittish. I moved
a feeder closer to a window to get a photo.

I live in a gated senior community so the bird isn’t “chase-able”. I’m
including GPS coordinates for my home because there’s an open space behind
us, and the bird is coming/going from that area.

Best,
Susie

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
