Subject: [NHBirds] Barred Owl Snatches Garter Snake From the Garden
The male Barred Owl that regularly roosts in the crabapple trees by our
deck seemed to be dozing this morning around 9 AM. When Linda looked for
him later on, he had moved closer to her garden, and now had a a foot-long
garter snake in his talons. Garter snakes are common in the garden because
of the rocks that offer them shelter. But occasionally the young ones
decide to explore and this one found itself exploring the stomach of Mr.
Owl.
