Thursday morning I had to take the car in for some work. The garage is a
bit over a mile from my house, so I decided to walk back home along the
irrigation ditches. Saw a good selection of birds, including a Nashville
Warbler, 3 hummingbirds (Black-chinned, Rufous and Broad-tailed),
Black-headed and Blue Grosbeaks, a pair of Lazuli Buntings, and lots of
Mallards. The lack of American Robins was unusual. 44 species total.
Also 3 muskrats and a HUGE snapping turtle in the ditches. LInk to
