Ty - Neither of our local pelagic trip operators - Alvaro's Adventures
or Monterey Seabirds - is doing a trip on those dates. Most pelagic
trips are offered on weekends.  Your friends might want to do a whale
watching trip, which are generally not as good for seeing seabirds as a
dedicated birding trip, but certainly better than not going out at all. 
Most whale watches are just a few hours long and don't get very far
offshore, but Monterey Bay Whale Watch does some longer trips that
should be better for pelagic birding.  They have an 8-hopur trip on the
25th:
