Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] Puzzling Warbler in San Carlos
Very puzzling warbler visited our backyard bird bath in San Carlos this evening 10/21.

Bright olive upper side, bright yellow below. Yellow on face and head, except had black blotches on crown of head, around neck, and on throat, all spotted with yellow. Yellow cheeks around black eyes. Did not vocalize. Very poor photo on eBird list:  https://ebird.org/checklist/S280724700

Any ideas for ID?  Could it be a Hooded Warbler?!??

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
