Phew.
What a day! I love shorebirds. And Clinton county has been getting shorebirds! I enjoyed
Those flooded fields - sky ponds - last year during my big year.
The Dows were Long-billed from the pics and vocal descriptions I was reading of posts
In ebird. What a great chance for a study! No….. I had 2 or 3 minutes with them. Was just getting
Ready to get my scope on them. Etc. I love to hear them. Next time…… I get the post
From Susan T. - Eurasian Wigeon in Hamilton County! County bird! And big year bird! Off
I go - Winton Woods - Settling Pond. Success! Susan has been hitting here regularly.
Paid off! And what a pleasure to see friends and fellow birders again! Nothing like a
Rarity to gather the flock! I hope it sticks a bit. There are those who couldn’t make it today.

I have been meaning to hit Sharon Woods and check on the restoration there. I heard the
Word marsh a lot. Well, not yet! There is sections of bare ground with grasses trying to
Get a start, is that the beginnings of a marsh? I have not a clue. We will see.

I am still missing that elusive Common Loon for my big year! I keep checking Lake Barber
Area. Nothing yet. Loon wise for me.

Ode notes - yes. But I have no idea what they are! Was not a green darner. That’s all I know….
All my sightings have been brief and in flight.

Good birding all.
